I'm buying the Ivrea version of Hellsing (Argentine publisher), their manga is usually cheap and of good quality (their Trinity Blood translation is SO GOOD). So far I bought volume 1, 4, 8 and 9 (broke here). A few notes of the translation differences with what I know of Dark Horse version (this will be edited soon).

- In first volume? Ivrea uses a summary of the Hellsing manga that's... mine or VERY close to what I wrote in Spanish forums/wiki (including of the focus being on Alucard and Integra, their relationship with Hellsing in general, instead of Seras as the Gonzo tv series).
- Volume 4 has Major saying something like "Oh I see, you're a good Master. That's why Alucard LIKES you."
- Volume 8 has "Countess" (condesa) thank god, someone who properly remembers their Japanese lesson (even crappy Norma version was properly translated).
- God..... Alucard is even gayer for Anderson in this volume.
- ALSO. No idea about the DH version, but in the spanish-Argentine script what Alucard thinks before he awakes (before Seras calls him) is "even so, you continue/go on without regrets".
- In volume 9, I need to check out the Japanese tanko, but there's a MAJOR change in the Alucard-Seras-Integra farewell, or the fantranslations were very crappy or Hirano changed the dialogue in the YKO. I think fantranslations has Alucard saying to Integra "Go, I'll finish this." She's all "I'm going" (??) then Alucard tells Seras "Go and conquer with our Master." Here Alucard says "I'm going to finish this" (speaking of Walter), Integra is "Go, go and conquer" and he turns to Seras to "Go" and "obey your Master."
- The whole Walter's betrayal was SO CLEAR I understood it perfectly. True, crappy characterization switch but his reasons are mentioned by everyone and there's no room to even say he's "brainwashed" (Dark Horse let it clear too) or waste time on a flashback in the next volume. When he mocks the idea when Seras wonders and says he's there by his OWN will as his own rebellion which makes Integra crushed and furious. Alucard and Major say he's gambling everything to win against Alucard (a child's game, he's nothing more than a scared brat). The gambling theme was consistent from the beginning, even with changing Integra's line as a "call" (the Poker command to show the cards) and Alucard in v3. Bottom line: he feels he's useless, old, forgotten (compared to Alucard or something) and he can't move on until he defeats him, even if he sells out his soul like that.
- I'm more pleased with the Walter's twist after this volume (maybe is different from the groaning wait when someone reads it whole and wrapped?). Besides Manga!Walter/Alucard or Integra or Seras are growing intriguing pairings. He's very fond of Integra (and Seras too in a lesser degree), the scene with Alucard saying they are his (in the context of things he can't gamble-his master and servant) makes him furious and Alucard mocks him. While I have regarded Integra and Walter as primary a daughter/father thing, it seems he may not have such platonic ideas (or maybe is the Japanese fandom influence who love the pairing or because the 90% of the characters hit on/fancy Integra). Walter/Seras is OK, too, there's a lot of less emphasis on Walter's fondness for her, but anything works, it's not like I care much about Walter. On Alucard/Walter... hatesex no love at all. Alucard feels personally PISSED off why did Walter "betrayed me". Hmmmm.
- Major is still creepy with Integra and Alucard. Integra being his beautiful and perfect Archenemy, while Alucard being his beloved and hateful Nemesis he envies/hates/adores.
- Alucard again makes an emphasis the APPEARANCE doesn't matter to him (god Hellsing fandom, stop writing him as focused on people's LOOKS, instead of their spirits/minds), and the prime example is how he thinks hot!vampire!Walter is ugly as hell (traitor) while he was 1000x more beautiful as an old man (or rather the person he pretended to be).
- Jan and Luke's weather report was amusing.

Gambling, war and Hellsing: potential analysis? Why was Alucard victorious this time? IMO, because he didn't bet the precious lives of his countess/master (Integra) and servants/people (Seras and Pip), but his own in the final move. He has grow some sense when fighting with Walter he says "I'm not going to bet my life to kill you" or something like that.

Additional note: I remember Hirano saying the Art restriction allows Alucard to control his lives and such, but I never associate it with the page he sucks the blood of London through it or returns through it.

The hilarious character introduction are still lulzy. Hirano says a bunch of random stuff and "facts" (jokes) about his character which makes me thrilled like Girlycard being the girl of the fancy hairstyle who lives in a high class place and can hit with the strength of the eye of a storm or things like that.

I want the DAWN finished. ;_;
